VLC is one of the most widely used applications for streaming IPTV channels. The VLC media player is a free and open, portable, cross-platform media player and media streaming server produced by the VideoLAN project.

VLC is available for desktop operating systems and mobile platforms, such as Android, iOS, Tizen, Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Phone.

Note: VLC for iOS, Android cannot play M3u list with more than 10 items, but many IPTV players support VLC as external player.

Download any version for any platform from the official VLC website :

Add IPTV channels to VLC player.

Time needed: 3 minutes.

ADD IPTV CHANNELS TO VLC PLAYER.

1- Enter M3u link
After installation, go to File > Open network and paste the m3u link into URL
or press CTRL+N ( Command + N in MAC OS X) and enter the m3u link in URL section

 

 

2- List of open channels
Then select Open and press the 3 lines icon to display the channel list ( ctrl + L )

 

Record an IPTV channel via VLC (MAC)

Step 1: active flow output after entering M3u Link in Network and clicking on Settings

 

Step 2: Define a location where the records will be saved . in File section and press OK

 

Step 3: Select Open to load the channels from the M3u link. If you want to record a TV channel, navigate to Play & Record from the menu and select stop to end recording.

 

 

FAQs

Why does VLC crash when loading a m3u link ?

This happens when loading a very large playlist ( such as the provider’s entire bouquet which contains over 60000 items ). You need to reduce the list of channels and VODs. It is possible to manage and remove unwanted categories via the IPTV dashboards provided by your provider.

Can I see the channels and VOD groups (Bouquets) in VLC ?

This is not possible via the VLC player.
